Step into history at Talisay Landing, the site of one of the most significant World War II events in the Philippines. On March 26, 1945, Allied forces landed on Talisay Beach to liberate Cebu from Japanese occupation—an operation that marked a crucial turning point in the region’s freedom.
Today, the site has been transformed into Liberation Park, a seaside memorial and public space that honors the bravery of Filipino guerrillas and American soldiers who fought during the war. The centerpiece is a life-sized bronze monument depicting the landing forces, including a figure modeled after General Douglas MacArthur, facing the sea in homage to the historic event.
